"From the start of that episode, Helly is on board with helping Mark get Gemma out. And I think during the process of trapping Milchick in the bathroom and realizing there are all of these other innies, this whole new department that they didn't even know existed, Choreography and Merriment. And then her friend, her brother, in Dylan, comes back to help her. I think standing on that desk and remembering her friend Irving, she realizes that all of these consciousnesses matter as well. And she's a gut instinct character, so she just runs. And how it was kind of contextualized to me was that Helly realizes that they have more numbers on their side than they thought at the beginning of that day. And she wants to see her friend, the love of her life for the last time. She really does let him choose, you know. I see him at that door for quite a few seconds before she even shows up, and he's having that thought process himself of choosing, do I want to exist? And so, yeah, it becomes this question of, like, do the innies lives matter, and do they want to live?"
