I think most of the people from the fandom feel the exact same way, and it’s just so sad because if done with the right writing the concept could have been so good, but now most of us (myself included) literally have SOA fanfiction universes we pretend were actually how the series ended.

I don’t think the people I know on here who watch it would engage in that (I’d be really surprised to see them complaining about a woman reacting to her child going missing...), but that’s what I hear a lot of outside of the internet. And, yeah, it is a lot of misogynistic BS. I mean, I didn’t pass any judgment on her when I watched it (in fact, she was probably the character I felt the most for, unsurprisingly), but a lot of people seemed to.
