So if you were a creative kid in the UK in the 90s, chances are you were inspired by one, if not all, of the following children's TV artists: Tony Hart, Neil Buchanan, Rolf Harris and Mark Speight. I know I was.
Mark Speight committed suicide after the death of his girlfriend in 2008.
Tony Hart died in 2009, but not before two strokes robbed him of the ability to draw.
And my personal childhood hero Rolf Harris, if convicted of what he has been charged with, is a paedophile.
This is all horribly, horribly fucking upsetting and I don't really know how to process it and I don't want to go to bed thinking about it so here it is. And now I will try not to think about it.
It's so easy to forget that we're not invincible, not even the people we idolize can live forever and that's not something I've had to recognize for a long time. It's such a sad day.
