Currently obsessing over (and making my own whump lists) of easily the most niche nobody-cares-about show ever: Ironside (1967).
Just one of your standard old time formulaic police/detective procedurals, but I really enjoy it.
The premise alone is whumpy- Very independent senior detective is shot in an attempted assassination, but survives to live out the rest of his life paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair. He is allowed to continue doing police things while disabled by being always surrounded and aided by a group of helper cops and an aide (who is not a cop). The aide character, Mark, is my unlikely whumpee and I am happily watching through the 8(?) seasons of this show Trying to find any whump I can find. If anyone is interested, I do have a bit of a list going already. 😘
This scene fills me with so much serotonin. The tenseness, the cinematography, Robert being a softy. I haven’t even watched the full episode yet :P
Mark admitting he found ‘something better’ in Memory of an Ice Cream Stick
Oh my god, help me, I love their relationship so much ;v;
Ed (unintentionally) copying Robert in To Kill a Cop
