We don’t know what the truth is that brought about the 2 day max working time between SK & NF. However, there were insiders that sadly knew & concurred that NF made contract demands reducing his contact with SK to no more than 2 days.It was also rumored & confirmed by insiders that he wouldn’t talk or interact with her off screen. This “rumor” was known to many who had visited the set & had spoken to insiders over several years. That’s why all the articles pointed the finger at him.
Oh boo hoo. Spare me a recount of how all these insiders claim he's a big fat bully who never talked to her and never wanted anything to do with her while she remained a perfect angel. Like everything else anyone has used to keep Stana on a pedestal of perfection and to throw Nathan into a demon pit; it's based on a one-sided account that either initially was given to the media with the purpose of selling a narrative or, once again, fans took the worst of it and used it to vilify him because it allowed them to keep the mantra of Nathan being a horrible, terrible person going.
And it astounds me how anyone can look at those rumors and just assume it's one sided. Have you ever known anyone to refuse to work with a person, or spend time with them, or even talk to them if that person hasn't done them wrong in some way? I'm not going to get into the hows and the whys because its none ones business but the two of them, but I will forever be mystified that anyone can believe these insider accounts and not stop to try and think what Stana Katic might have ever possibly done for that situation to arise. And its not that Fillion is simply an asshole or a jerk; though that's what everyone who rushes to defend Stana will surely say. People with such large egos and general problems don't maintain the type of reputation that Fillion has among co-stars, directors, and other people in the industry.
As far as those set visits; no. There was one report back in season seven where a fan mentioned that during her day on the set she didn't see them interact and kind of thought they didn't get along. Everything else that's ever been said has been built upon and, usually, directly quoted from that same initial story. And a lot of that also includes the gossip publications that everyone is using to point a finger at Nathan and prove themselves right; as if those magazines aren't known to embellish, and use unreliable or unconfirmed sources. As I've said all along; people who want to blame Nathan and hate him are gonna latch onto whatever they can find that promotes that belief, and conveniently ignore anything that goes against it because they have no interest in all the rest of it. They want to know what they believe, to hell with the rest.
But, for the last time, I'll reiterate this because it doesn't seem to have sunken in fully. Nathan Fillion didn't destroy Castle on his own. It's not wholly his fault the show ended, or that Stana Katic left. But as I'm clearly talking to a bunch of brick walls who are going to cling to this devout belief that it's all his doing, and since the show is, you know, over, I'm gonna find better things to do with my time than explaining a very basic and easily understood concept to people who haven't mastered the art of moving on or not holding a grudge.
