Anyways, after rendering Shauna borderline unconscious, Mari runs off and eventually bumps into Nat, who tells her all about the rescue plan and the call in the mountains, and they both stick together until rescue eventually finds everyone.

-joined because his dad made him, reluctantly enjoys it

-picked percussion because he assumed it would be the easiest thing to learn (and so that he would get to spend less time with his dad and more with Ben)

-tells his teachers he has to march for parades (he doesn’t) to skip class

-only practices when the directors are around but is surprisingly good anyway

-sleeps the entire bus ride to competitions, misses all the crazy shit

-Mari begs him to do winter guard with her “so she won’t be alone” (so they have a guy in it)
