Today, I will be talking about my version of Marinette for Miraculous Novelle Mort et Vie, and a small update: the name has now changed.

Meilin is the main character of the series. She grew up in Milan, Italy, and most of France. Throughout her childhood, she would move from city to city as her parents tried and tried to set up their bakery, and with a failure, they would move again. Meilin got used to the cycle of moving and has an expected schedule for it. They would move to the city, her parents would buy a shop, then it would fail, and they would move again to another city. Because of this, Meilin was isolated as a child, never having a lot of time to make new friends. Her only friend was a French-Swiss-German girl named Liesl Abel, but they only saw each other on video call because Liesl now lives in Belgium. Meilin was from a very Overprotective and traditional household. Her mother, Hanyue, was very strict and traditional, always pushing her daughters to be perfect and intelligent, but she was still a loving mother, but still abusive and neglectful. Meilin’s father, Dario-Jules, was an Italian-French baker who used to own a whole branch of restaurants and bakeries in Italy before marrying Hanyue. He then closed his branch then tried to make a new life in France. Meilin has two sisters, Bridgette Ruyue ShengMing and Lingyun Eloise ShengMing, and a brother named Hugo Jia Hao ShengMing, who is older than her by 4 years and is a doctor in Hong Kong. Brigette is studying abroad to become a Vet and is Meilin’s younger twin sister, while Lingyun is Meilin’s youngest sister at 3 years old. Meilin is very closed off and avoidant, as well as extremely paranoid, and likes to plan out her every move. But Meilin is also very kind, patient, and nice, and tends to be a bit too selfless, but she can be a bit stubborn and a bit headstrong and overly independent due to growing up alone. She can be sarcastic and rude, but it is mostly by accident. Meilin in this Universe is Autistic and Semi-Verbal. Her biggest hyperfixations are fashion, character design, and a show called Ruby Eclipsed(this will be important later). She moved to Paris recently and is going to attend a prestigious high school called Lycée Dupont for L'art et les créatifs after gaining a partial scholarship. Because of this and the fact that her parents had finally succeeded in opening their restaurant/bakery, their family was staying in Paris for good, which sent Meilin into a spiral. She was so used to the constant moving that she was scared and out of her element. The summer before she would have to start school in Paris, Meilin and her family visited her Maternal side of the family in Lilijing, China. She was in the garden leading to the forest behind her grandparents' house when she saw a red and pink flash of light from the bushes. She ran into the forest, and she found a black box with a red ladybug and a moon insignia on it.
So guys, this is the end of all the info I will give you about Marinetta in my Au. I have to address some things first before we go. One, the series is now called Miraculous Nouvelle Mort et Vie. Second, Marinetta is called Meilin as well cause that's what her mother, Hanyue, and her maternal side of the family call her that. And third, my version of Ladybug will be next in the series.
