Rynnell didn’t want to be a sweaty, stressed-out mess the first time she saw the inside of the palace - and yet, nothing could ever be easy, could it? Maybe it was on her for expecting a swift entry - Asra was recognizable as Nish’s companion and mentor, but Ryn? She was just the mentee of the mentee, nondescript help around the shop. She hadn’t even wanted to participate in this whole mystery. But... she ended up wanting a nice bed and even nicer food more.
Nish had to be dragged out to the gate to vouch for her after she’d already worked herself into a red-faced frenzy, and cleared everything up in minutes. Ryn snorted at the whole situation as Nish led her inside, and ran through the list of witty things she’d planned to say to her. ‘Nish? Is that really you? Goodness, it’s been so long that I hardly recognized you.’ Or ‘So what do I call you now? Countess Jr.? The Great Nish Detective?‘ Instead, she just let out a groan as she ran her hand over the cool marble of the hallway. “I hope your room has a huge bath ‘cuz I plan on staying in it for hours.”
She cringed a bit, clearing her throat before grabbing her hand. “Wait, wait.” She pulled her to the side, rubbing the back of her neck. “So, yeah, I’m here after all. ‘Why’, you might be asking. Well-- shit, Nish, you can’t have all the fun while I’m expected to run the shop by myself. And before you say I said I was most comfortable that way... listen - I say a lot of things.” She shrugged. “So when’s dinner?”
