Mardi Himal is a newly opened, budget-friendly, short trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This trek is perfect for those who want to enjoy beautiful mountain views without spending a lot of money or time. The trek usually takes about 5 to 7 days to complete.
The journey starts from a place called Kande, near Pokhara. Pokhara is a popular city for tourists in Nepal, and it is easy to get there from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. From Kande, you walk through forests filled with rhododendron flowers. These flowers are very colorful and make the trek even more beautiful.
As you walk, you will pass through small villages. The people in these villages are very friendly. You can stay in simple guesthouses and try local food. The path is not very crowded, so you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
One of the best parts of the trek is reaching the Mardi Himal Base Camp. From there, you can see amazing views of the mountains. The most famous mountains you can see are Machapuchare, also known as Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. The sight of these mountains is breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset.
The trek is not too difficult, but you need to be in good health to enjoy it. You don’t need special climbing skills, just a good pair of walking shoes and a spirit for adventure. There are also guides and porters available if you need help carrying your bags or finding the way.
