So I'm in marching band and one of my favorite things is the fact that during band camp the color guard and drumline were having a competition to see who could have the better room and the color guard had fairy lights and a fan and a tv and an Xbox and an air mattress and the drumline had a tv and a ps2 and everyone had snacks in the rooms and the guard even talked about getting a mini fridge and this went on for two weeks and our band director never found out
for state assessment i kinda almost hit a field judge with a swing flag, he kinda walked infront of me when i was โjazz runningโ ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
It's official: my first flag and band camp as Coach Villa (or Coach Linds, if you ask any of the girls) is over. I had a moment yesterday where I stood up at the top of the stands and watched the band march and play the opener - I started tearing up. Seeing my choreography performed by those great girls on the football field...nothing could have prepared me. The past two weeks have been crazy. Going from band to work to life constantly, working with a group of amazing girls, but one where half of them had never held a flag before this year was a unique challenge. But it was so worth it. I have been blessed my first season as coach with an absolutely wonderful group of girls that I have been honored to watch and help grow, as well as fellow staff that I have absolutely adored, and I know these two weeks have just been the beginning. Even though marching season is over, and the transition to concert season is upon us, know that no matter what band you come from, big or small, new or old, that band is a family, and that I would not trade it for anything in the world. I hope you all feel the same way!
