The short takes place after the movie. A rare gem, the Maraschino Ruby, is being displayed at the museum, and Chief Luggins (who believes the Bad Guys are secretly still criminals) brags that it’s safe from the “stupid, lame, and STUPID Bad Guys”. Mr. Wolf starts scheming to steal the ruby in retaliation as he and Mr. Snake leave a gas station with a push pop. Mr. Wolf asks Mr. Snake if he paid for the push pop, and they’re suddenly surrounded by police. Mr. Wolf details the plan to steal the ruby as they drive off.
That evening, Chief Luggins stops someone from grabbing the ruby, thinking she’s caught Mr. Wolf. But it’s another cop, Officer Bob. Chief Luggins reveals that the ruby on display is actually a candy decoy intended to lure the Bad Guys into a trap, while she has the real ruby in her pocket. Bob tells her that the gang was arrested earlier that day.
Chief Luggins rushes back to the station to find the gang in the interrogation room. Bob describes that they were arrested for allegedly stealing a push pop. Just before Chief Luggins can send them to prison, Mr. Shark (disguised as an attorney) barges in and chastises her for trying to make his clients speak without him present. He reveals the receipt for the push pop, proving their innocence. He then accuses her of entrapment with the fake ruby, and demands Bob arrest her.
Mr. Wolf tells an embarrassed Chief Luggins that he’ll drop the charges if she calls the newspaper and retracts her comments. The next day, the newspaper comes out with the retraction...and news that the real ruby has been returned to the museum. While Chief Luggins had been on the phone, Mr. Wolf had switched the ruby in her pocket for Mr. Snake’s push pop, then the gang broke into the museum and returned the real ruby, stealing the fake in the process. Snake eats the candy ruby, and the gang drive off, laughing.
