Gives nose/forehead kisses:

Aja.  She’s the most physically affectionate and forward with giving said affection.

Gets jealous the most:

None.  They’re all really open about communicating with each other and also respect that they have friendships outside of their relationship too.

Takes care of on sick days:

Shannon is the most responsible.  Mary will just pretend that she’s totally not sick so she can continue whatever it is she’s doing (and has to be gently prodded into resting).  Aja doesn’t believe she can get sick like humans do, so goes into denial about it when she does get sick.

Shannon was always taught to listen to what her body needs and to take care of herself, and she imparts this wisdom to Mary and Aja, who slowly learn how to take care of themselves better (and each other).  Shannon’s also really good at making chicken noodle soup.

Off-topic, but Shannon’s also one of the few people Jim will cook with, as she actually knows what she’s doing.

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day:

Mary.  Sunbathing is nice and all that, but she is The Queen of Splash Fights and her girlfriends must learn and accept that truth.

Brings the other lunch at work:

Every day, they each bring a food/dish and share them between themselves.

Mary’s tend to be the healthiest and simplest.  Veggies with ranch dip, chips, that kind of snacky thing.

Shannon are the most experimental.  She likes trying out different cuisines and dishes, especially after she finds an old recipe book of her grandmother’s.

For a while, Aja’s contributions confuse Mary and Shannon greatly, as they all seem to be exact replications of dishes from the 1950s/1960s.  Though, once Aja explains about the Blanks, they have an ‘aha’ moment.

Tries to start role-playing in bed:

The first time the three of them have a sleepover, Shannon enthusiastically brings out her Dungeons & Dragons stuff.  She easily gets Aja hooked on the role-playing game, but it takes a little longer for Mary (who has to be influenced, in part, by Aja’s enthusiasm to try the ‘nerdy’ game).

They end up staying up all night playing through their first campaign, crash on some nearby couches in Mary’s basement, and start playing again in the morning.

Embarrassingly drunk dancer:

They don’t get drunk, but they are known to shamelessly take over the dance floor at every opportunity.

Firmly believes in couples costumes:

Mary.  She takes charge in planning all their costumes, as it allows her to express her love of fashion.

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas:

Mary always purchases things she knows her girlfriends will love.  She observes extensively and then always plans out what she’s getting to maximize their happiness.

Shannon leans toward doing homemade gifts.  She loves to make things and then sharing them with those she cares about the most.  Each year she’ll pick something (ceramic mugs, knitted hats.. she’s talented across many mediums), be careful to make it in secret, and then happily reveal it when gifts are exchanged.

Aja’s are the most expensive, by virtue of being Akiridion in origin.  Technically, the gifts she gives aren’t of much value on her home planet, but on Earth, they’re practically priceless.  She gives small trinkets that reflect her girlfriends’ interests, but are combined with her own origin, as a way of connecting them.

Makes the other eat breakfast:

Shannon.  She brings morning snacks to school just in case the other two haven’t eaten yet.

Remembers anniversaries:

Mary.  She keeps a calendar and always plans extravagant dates for their anniversaries.

Brings up having kids first:

I honestly don’t see them talking about it?  They see it as a far off thing that they’ll get to (maybe) when they want to.  Right now, they just want to live their lives.

Kills the bugs:

Mary doesn’t want to touch them.

Shannon gently picks them up and puts them outside.

Aja gets excited and observes them, bc she really likes bugs (and all strange creatures).

First to define them as a couple:

Mary, as she tends to be quick in announcing her relationships.  Although it’s Aja who comes up with ‘marajanon’ as their relationship name.  Shannon is the shyest about these things, and so gets really self-conscious when the other two’s enthusiasm gets a little out of hand.  Thus, they spend their first day as an official relationship just hanging out together, until Shannon’s ready to be more public.

Who hides their guilty pleasures longer:

Shannon has the hardest time opening up.  She was also closeted for the longest time of the three and still isn’t completely comfortable being Out.  It takes her a while to share her interests with Mary and Aja, but she slowly does.  The first time Shannon plays her guitar and sings for them is a really big moment.

*unrelated, but Shannon also becomes friends with Krel when she takes him to the music store to get his own guitar (as she would, in fact, like hers back).  They bond over being music buddies.

Marajanon - This may be one of my new favorite poly ships. I definitely need to write more of this. (I would love some more prompts for this ship)

who’s the cuddler: Aja. She has four arms, and she uses them to cuddle her girlfriends. Also did you see how curled up she was in the Mother’s Day episode? Definitely a cuddler.

who makes the bed: Shannon. She has a very particular morning routine that she follows every day. It bothers her a lot not to go through that routine. So she always makes the bed once everyone is awake.

who wakes up first: Mary. Her on point hair and outfit doesn’t come together on it’s own! Mary has to wake up earliest to get ready. Shannon takes a more casual view of her appearance and Aja can use the transduction. When Mary gets up she likes to watch her girlfriends sleep.

who has the weird taste in music: Aja. It comes from not growing up with music. She likes so many different things, even stuff that the other’s wouldn’t consider music. Though they all like Krel’s music.

who is more protective: Mary is super protective of her girlfriends. Aja is more skilled and able to protect the other two, but Mary will react first and angriest if someone threatens either of the other two.

who sings in the shower: Shannon. The other two will sing a long sometimes but Shannon will always do the one woman opera.

who cries during movies: Aja. Mary doesn’t usually pay attention during movies, and Shannon has seen all the movies they watch. Aja has never experienced a lot of the popular movies. Though some times she will cry at different parts than a human would. 

who spends the most while out shopping: Mary. Is there any doubt here?

who kisses more roughly: Shannon. She hasn’t had a lot of girlfriends, so she always wants to show them that she loves them as much as possible. 

who is more dominate: In order Aja, Mary, Shannon. Aja is Queen of a planet. She knows exactly what she wants and knows how to get it.

Mary and Shannon try to hide it from each other, but they know each other so well that they quickly figure out Something’s Up.  However, neither will tell each other what it is.

Aja would think both of them are kind of cute if they weren’t after her and all that.

The few times Mary and Shannon try to capture Aja she teases/banters with them.  These interactions are what slowly caused them to fall for her.

However, each time they do catch Aja, one of them always makes sure she “accidentally” escapes without either the other or Aja figuring it out.

Things go on until one day where other bounty hunters show up for Aja and the three of them are forced to work together (because neither Mary nor Shannon can stand the idea of someone else being capturing Aja).

This eventually leads to both Mary/Shannon admitting that they have feelings for Aja in the middle of a shoot out with the other bounty hunters and the quick decision that they’re going to all run away together.
