#maplestory zero

So like I said in my first post regarding this AU, Amaterasu and Oki’s roles are taken by Beta and Alpha. But with a twist BD my city now

Zero is the name taken on by Shiranui here, and when they died their power was split (on purpose it seems...), forming two separate entities instead of one. This twist also means the two meet much earlier on in the story, leading to more altercations on Alpha’s behalf interactions between them. One half reincarnated on its own, though weakened by the effort alone. The other was called into a statue within Ellinia Village, bringing it to life.

“Ah...Beta. Origin of all that is good and the heart of us all...Where has your light gone?”

That statue would become Beta. She comes into being with only two goals in mind; restore the land of Maple, and find her other half. And quite frankly, the former seems much easier if she accomplishes the latter first. The question is...where is he? Perhaps if she can reclaim the 13 God’s Tears and their techniques, she’ll be able to better sense his whereabouts. It’s a plan at least.

Along for the ride is a tiny, easy-going Poncle by the name of Lapis. Though quite stoic herself at first, Beta’s journey helps her grow, and expand on her emotions. Most of the people have lost their faith...but she has found, that there are still things in the world worth fighting for. Including her clueless and angry partner.

“Nine, a warrior of the Shadow Tribe that dwell deep within the land of El Nath. He stole a sword of legend and took off with it to who knows where, intent on fulfilling some sort of prophecy. It is as follows: ‘The wall of ice shall shatter and open the way to the heavens, when Rhinne, the guardian sword, glows silver.’ He seems to believe that the key to making the sword shine is to slay a great many monsters with it.”

A hot-headed warrior of the Shadow, who’s got good intentions without...the best of motivations. El Nath is threatened by the brother Demons that have awakened upon the mountain and, having lost his faith in the gods, and maybe a little drunk on his own ambitions, Nine set out to slay them himself. By stealing the sacred sword of his tribe. Eh...good intentions maybe only get you so far.
