Week of the comedy newscasters. This is disappointing from SNL, but it’s downright heartbreaking from John Oliver, who has a fantastic monologue out there on flying into what might have been Houghton. It’s no joke: the Upper Peninsula is not optional, and the Upper Peninsula is certainly not Wisconsin.

On a considerably more edifying note, the Free Press is starting to pick these stories up. Go, Detroit Free Press!

When I was at work I noticed several fails on this map in the insert to Margo Price’s All American Made. Most notable is Lake Michigan in place of Lakes Erie/Huron and Superior in place of Michigan. Something’s up with the Gulf too.
