Hi everyone! How are you all? I haven’t been able to check in for a while. Nah, nothing unlucky happened to me on Friday the 13th 😝. On the brighter side I was so glad to be greeted with many new posts today. Starting the week right! I missed you all. - - Instead of the usual excuses and apologies, here is me waving enthusiastically at you with a new book review. I was skeptical about Many Joseph’s latest novel, Miss Laila, Armed and Dangerous because of its size. But I am thrilled to say that it did not disappoint. I enjoyed the read. - - Told through parallel story lines and set in contemporary India, the novel has Joseph’s characteristic wicked humour and sarcasm. It pokes fun at many eminent Indian personalities as well as at the hypocrisy of Indians and the battle between the conservatives and liberals. As expected, the author makes fun of both the sides. But this is definitely not a book to be missed. 4.5⭐️ #thebooksatchelreviews - - Link in bio for a lengthier review about various aspects of the novel. Let me know if you agree or disagree. Or if the book is on your TBR. - - In other news, how was your weekend? . . . #manujoseph #misslaila #indianbooks #indianwriters
