Day -4: Anyone out there who hasn’t heard of Philippe Petit? He is this wonderful crazy guy who hung a high wire between the two towers of World Trade Center in 1974 and walked, kneed, lay, danced on it for nearly an hour. I already knew the absolutely amazing and award-winning documentary by James Marsh called “Man On Wire” (Oscar 2009!), but yesterday I saw a movie just from last year, The Walk, telling this unbelievable true story. It is based on “To Reach the Clouds”, the book Petit wrote himself about his experience, directed by Robert Zemeckis, starring an excellent Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He makes you stick to Petit´s vision, his strong passion even in the moments you ´d rather think: It´s insane. Thrilling, fascinating, strong recommendation! By the way: Philippe Petits birthday is August 13th, just like mine:)
