2/4 Just because one isn’t a magic user, does not mean that they are powerless. Percy’s power was his words. I think he spoke the powerful truth that Lux needed to hear. That Lux is stronger than the Hunter. Not just magically, but willfully, with his unique goodness. Lux is the perfect example of why I love whump so much. It speaks about the kind of person you are to go through such horrific stuff and still come away from it and still have a good heart.

4/4 I was pretty stressed out as the pages came closer and closer to the end and it felt like there was so much story left. I guess that was a silly thing since I have the second book. Also thought it was cool that the first drabble you did of Lux and Kiara on your tumblr is placed so far after this. It is amazing how such big universes start off with a random character. It makes me want to publish my own stories.

(Heads up, this one’s got knives/knife-play, some nasty violence in it, and might be whump-ish, lol!)

He slips out of one knot only to find two more appear with increasing tightness. As the knots build, one on top of the other, Loki’s left with two options. Continue and cut off his air supply or give in and hope for mercy to come along. He goes with the second, falling limp and reserving energy for survival over escape.

“You’re big game,” she appears, watching with only the vaguest expression of amusement as he dangles, tangled in ropes that give away his initial struggles.

Loki looks down, she smiles up. Dark hair, dark skin, dressed in leather with quiver strapped around back and bow in hand. Beautiful, young, with an untouchable aura. A challenge.

“Ah, yes...” Loki chuckles as if not in the predicament he’s in. “Would you be so kind as to...cut me down?”

“These woods are forbidden for men.”

His face falls, her smile grows, and in a split second the arrow shoots him down. He thunks like a piece of bloody meat; earth splits and digs into skin. He attempts to shift away from the rock grating his forehead open, but again the vines only truss him up farther. He cringes, wheezes... “Please...” there’s a plea in his voice now.

The woman kneels, examines his face. “You knew this.”

“Yes,” Loki confesses.

“Do you wish to become one?” Loki gives a jolt as hunter’s knife is felt between his legs, dangerously close to what currently makes him a man. “It would be a suitable punishment.”

“No no no no,” he twists away, lands on his side with broken branches stabbing against his back. Her eyes are keen, teeth shining from between lips, and slight panic hits. Only now does he realize he’s been prey all along and she's the most passionate of hunters. “If you’d like -” The blade point at Adam’s apple freezes him.

“I’d like to punish you.” Knife balances on edge, cuts leather and cloth and skin from collarbone to navel. “I fed the last man who entered my lands without permission to my animals...let’s see if you fare better.” She slices just enough knots for Loki to stretch himself out. As he does the slice down his chest opens farther, bleeds more. She licks lips, gives a whistle.

Loki jumps to cover her mouth, stop her call, and feels knife bury in his side. Gash it open so he grabs in fear organs may topple out. Blood pours, pools, as he sits, stunned, even as he heards the beasts approaching.

Artemis grins wide and wild as she stands. “Run, God of Mischief, run!”

Hahahaa I never thought about it like that but that’s gotta be every whump writer’s biggest fear, right? How much trouble would we be in if our characters came to life like that?! :D
