//Somehow I keep thinking Lirael's nightmares have SOMETHING to do with Death. That's one of the first things mentioned when you meet her, and its hinted rather strongly that its not an irregular thing.
Like, what if her nightmares are connected with visions of sorts of death because of the Abhorsen and Clayr blood mixing???
Also I was going to make this post about a relationship headcanon for her and Nick so here I go
Okie dokie so after they start sleeping together Nick figures out very, very quickly that Lirael isn't exactly easy to share a bed with.
As in she has rather horrible nightmares on a regular basis and tends to kick, hit and claw in her sleep. And sleepwalk, and sleep talk. The list goes on.
He being the dork he is experiments over a period of weeks (since he's not exactly going to tell Lirael what he's doing) on how exactly to keep her from having the nightmares in the first place.
oddly enough the one that works the best is either cuddling her or simply holding her hand.
also if nick has nightmares Lirael usually wakes up and just plays with his hair comfortingly until they go away.
Don't worry, I'll make breakfast in the morning. (if it's okay and all)

She’d been reading, Nick sitting beside her. She hadn’t really thought anything when she’d felt his weight on her shoulder, dismissing it in her preoccupied state. When she finally did look up though she found him asleep. Not really wanting to disturb him she leaves him, going onto the next chapter.
