Living at the base of a heavily stratified, segmented and hierarchical society, the common toiler has little chance to ever reasonably impact the way in which their life and well being is governed. Most will live and die and live and die without once ever questioning why they must surrender so much of their crop while starving or suffer pillaging from all sides during times of conflict. It takes wisdom to see these bounds and courage to be rid of them, so it is presumed to be a vested interest of those who have reaped to keep such facets of the human character mired in mud and dragged broken and bloodied through the dirt. Yet still, from the bottom there are still those who stand in defiance, doing of what little they can with what little they have to strike back, no matter how shortsighted or foolhardy. Sickles, knives, pitchforks and scythes might be all that they have to bear, with a wicked grin hiding their despair, for others of their caste see them as mad. Manharvesters they are, farmers with nothing left to lose.
