kinda interested in the lore around octavia and the manekin/a…. their bio says they were “gifted” but like. how does it work in canon? because the manekins are playable and talk to the trav and paimon in their voiceline so like where do they live. are they even sentient? that'd be super fucked up if octavia just gifted traveler and paimon a living being. whats their deal.

are they even people? i dont think so. i initially thought maybe their puppets like scara or some kind of artifical thing like rhine’s creations! taking another look @ the pv, either way, im pretty sure they’re aliens like the traveler and skirk (? if thats what the pv is saying? its a little unclear to me atleast whether it means “world” as in actual literal other planet or “world” like simulanka. im like 80% sure its an entire seperate planet/world but it could just be misunderstanding basic shit again lol)

we see octavia beside the actual physical bodies of the manekins. and they exist in the overworld, so they can’t be just the avatar the traveler uses when they’re in the wonderland? and in the pv introducting the mode they’re called “terminals” and “a means for dreamers to manage the outside world” so they are actual...physical beings. just repurposed by octavia for the wonderland it seems

and im curious abt the “world” the manekins/dreamers come from! we see people with weird spacey helmets / vr looking masks on their heads. also im curious what “cold hard truths” ended the world of the manekins/dreamers. probably whatevers destroying the rest of the universe around teyvat, right?
