“Spencer, you know you shouldn’t be here,” she mumbled, closing the front door quietly and leaning against it, trying to keep her dad from knowing anyone was here. “Maybe we should, um, go for a walk or something. Dad’s home and...” she trailed off, not wanting to put those thoughts into words.
