I see. You could use Mamegarasu to control the twins if they won't listen to you.
You don't need to worry about that. For now, just focus on saving Yuru.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 16 Review - Fighting All Night
This is the most action-heavy episode by far. There are two fights happening and they are mostly the highlights, especially the one towards the end. However, both are integral to the overall plot.
I can see that Yuru does seem to be overtly calm in the presence of Hayato and Asuma Kagemori; maybe it’s because he knows his daemons and Dera are looking for him and why he’s being calm to buy time? Anyways, Hayato does seem to be trying to sway Yuru to joining them but he has nothing Yuru wants. All Yuru wants is to be with his family and live a peaceful life farming and hunting. Hayato also listed all the people who betrayed Yuru in an attempt to sway him; however, even if he can’t trust most of them, I do like that he developed a trust towards Asa and freeing her from her circumstances became one of his motivations now.
I do like the insight into Dera. He used to have a pair of Daemons but they most likely died and he hasn’t formed a contract with a new pair ever since—maybe he’s someone who was only loyal to one pair in his life or he’s someone who can’t deal with heartbreak of constantly losing pairs. Anyways, I do like his argument with that one bandit guy about how he’s not to be trusted and that his actions could be betraying the Higashi Village. Dera just shut him up by telling him factions don’t matter and that the world is cruel for wanting to kill off kids for power. He may be flippant but he’s a good guy; he’s basically someone we the viewers can trust but is someone who is slowly building up trust with Yuru in-story.
The battle with Ivan is important because one important factor: Right can smell Mine and Nagisa’s blood on Shokyo. This means that Ivan either killed or teleported them. Whether it be due to Hayato or another faction is unknown. If Ivan slashed them and then teleported them, I wonder about who hired him to do so. Is there a whole other faction besides Kagemori and their affiliates? Other than that, the fight with Ivan was pretty cool in that Left points out the rarity of swordsmen in the modern era. My favorite part was when Left used her severed arm to smack Ivan in the face, giving her a longer reach. Left and Right may have been around for a long time, but their battle instincts still haven’t withered.
The reveal of Gonzo Kagemori being a multiple Daemon user was awesome! There is a reason why he’s the leader of the clan. The way he can just summon multiple at the same time without losing energy is crazy—if anything, it feels as if the more Daemons he use, the more energy he gets. The part with the security guard was hilarious since all these Daemon fights must look bizarre to the normal human eye. Poor security guard is seeing Gonzo shadowboxing with force so strong that it’s crushing buildings and thinks he’s hallucinating.
The cliffhanger towards the end was crazy. It seems that theories about Akio being the traitor really came true! He was definitely suspicious when he killed the intruder with the military uniform with ease when he was the one with the most information about the ambush; it was mostly the reaction he had that caught me a bit off guard at first. Though, I do wonder if the Asa that was left behind is actually Asa or if it’s a trap set by Jin’s daemon Ai who has done similar tricks in the past like that one elevator scene in the early episode. The fact that Asa was left alone does feel deliberate, as if they were trying to lure someone. There’s definitely no way the Kagemori clan would leave Asa on her own if that were the case, right? She’s too valuable to them—the clan also promised to protect her. I guess I’ll have to find out next episode… Let me know your theories!
