Malvani Fish Curry comes from the Malvan region of Maharashtra, India. It is a tasty and spicy curry. This curry is full of flavor and perfect for seafood lovers. It is made with fresh fish and a mix of fragrant spices.
Ingredients: 500g fish preferably pomfret or kingfish. 2 onions, finely chopped. 3 tomatoes, chopped. 1/2 cup grated coconut. 1 tablespoon Malvani masala. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon red chili powder. 2-3 green chilies, slit. 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp. 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves. Salt to taste. 2 tablespoons oil. Water as required.
Instructions: Clean the fish really well, and then mix it with salt and turmeric powder. Set this aside for 15 to 20 minutes. In a pan with oil, cook chopped onions until they turn golden brown. Put in the chopped tomatoes and cook them until they get soft. Spices like Malvani masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt should be added. Cook for two to three minutes after mixing well. Now add water and boil it. Add the pieces of fish that have been marinated and the sliced green chilies. Put the lid on and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the fish is done. Add the tamarind pulp and chopped coriander leaves after the fish is done cooking. Cook for another two to three minutes. Malvani Fish Curry is hot and ready to eat with bread or rice.
