ive actually shown a bit of this one before! a couple months back!! still working at it, lots of fun to be had, have a snippet:
this was originally meant to be a part of my riverbed au, but it grew sentience and told me it needed to be it's own separately insane au
if I remember correctly I started to write this after a rewatch of coraline. do what you will with that.
I make it no secret that I am interested in the potential dynamic of depressed middle schooler sasaki and whatever the hell was up with little hirano. this a kind of a expansion of that concept but make it tripy dream sequences tied in with vibes dragged straight out of Happy Death-day late game insanity. lots of fun to be had with the flippant exchange of life and death, alongside dreams being the weird in-between of those two. what would you do if you were depressed and your only friend is the weird guy with scraped knees and eyes that scream awkward vulnerability. what would you do if you kept dying and the only peace you have is when you two sit together right afterwards. what then. also: who knew immortality was so Lame

"ten seconds of summer (WHY THE BEACH?!?!?!?)" SPILL 👀
I FELL ASLEEP!!! okay wait let me set the scene here.
first of all, this is an established kagihira au. kind of. kagi doesnt know that yet. bc my favorite thing of all time to play with in stories is Time. we begin on a beach. it takes place in snapshot format. kind of. it makes sense reading it through. have some snippets.
if you can understand what I'm going for, you may notice some spooky time shenanigans going on. don't worry about that too much. the fun bit is I was inspired by the beach that makes you old to write this. it's not very related to what's actually going on in this story, but there's a fun fact for you. the bit in the doc name about why the beach was mostly just me screaming at these characters. asking them why they've done this to me and such ahdhjs. there are only so many beach based events I can write in a compelling way guys... but anyways this au mostly focuses on kagi and Time and being in love with denial baked deep into that love. if you knew the future was "bad" but you didn't know how when or why, is there anything you can do about it? it's about kagi contemplating if it's worth the risk to try and fix what he doesn't understand(yet).
on a more meta level, it's also about the concept of the beach as a liminal space. People go to beaches, make memories, then leave. and at the end of the night its just quiet, dark, and empty out there. you walk across a beach at night once and it really helps you understand the achingly deserted feeling. especially when you can still see and hear people on the outskirts, but they won't come any closer. (<-said by a chronic night beach walker) when you leave the beach, you strip yourself of it. you wash off the sand and take off your swim clothes. you put away the towels until the next beach day. yet the taste of salt lingers on your tongue. your legs feel shaken, memories of tides pushing and pulling and bashing themselves against you feel like the present. sand sticks to the inside of your nails like it's clinging to you. the remnants of the sea mix with your hair in a way that feels vengeful, how dare you leave it behind. feet covered in sand and rocks carry you forward, yet still ache even when you leave. and one day you will return. no matter how long it takes. and the beach will be there.

any snippet wouldn't really capture the vibe I'm going for just yet bc it's a newer wip. but uh. think of your favorite guys. now put them at a house party. now have two points in time, one before midnight and one after. then imagine a dead girl in a pool. then imagine glow sticks. then imagine miyano walking out to find absolute chaos. then imagine yellowjackets doomcoming. then imagine tashiro joking about what is real and what is fake. is the girl fake. is she fake hanzawa. is she really what we think she is. what do you have to say for yourself. and then flash forward and Bam mcdonalds parking lot.

4. a story idea you haven’t written yet
There are so many lol, one that ive had on my mind for a while is the riverbed au which i did that oga and sasaki oneshot for and then never elaborated on. i didnt really get to show off what was up with that au but basically there is a lot of fun dream metaphors, with the basic concept being: what if the cast had different meetings or never met at all? with focus on sasaki and hirano meeting in middle school, tashiro who never joined the ping pong club having an odd underclassman rivalry with hanzawa bc prev pres is still pulling them together somehow no matter the situation. miyano who never met sasaki having to figure himself out without that extra push, while shirahama is still somehow taking chances too late. also having fun with kuresawa, fujimi, and niibashi on the side bc why not.
the day im able to write out all my ideas for this au is the day i will finally be free lmao

im not super picky with fonts, usually arial and oswald, maybe times new roman if it fits the vibe
29. how easy is it for you to come up with titles?
Too easy, its kinda a problem for me lmao. i have tons of titles and i am Very indecisive. i like making playlists to get me in the mood for certain wips and my titles usually come from song lyrics in there or just relate to something going on in the story.
