I got corel draw through a humble bundle a while back and it just showed me fucking adware while it wasn't even running. Ugh. I tried this guide to get rid of it, hopefully it works. I wanted to branch out and try new software, and this is the crap I get. :P Gimp remains superior!
recently i've found out that most applications don't close when you close them, they just 'minimise' (this is the word they use, which is kind of weird because there's already an option to minimise an application, and that's not what they're doing), or 'run in the background'. they should not need to do this!! steam, discord, and practically all of the other applications do not need to still be open when i am not using them. i learned this because my computer was running very slowly and my download speeds were rank, so i checked task manager and then looked up why the applications were still running. otherwise i would not have known, because the applications do not tell me this is what they're doing. the worst part is, when i try to close them through task manager (this happened at least with steam), they reopened themselves. when i finally found out how to truly close steam, it went away, but that was hidden in a submenu of the application, and i don't think the average person thinks to do that.
