Mansplaining
That term really bothers me because I have a tendency to get really excited about things that I learn and I really love sharing that knowledge with other people and it’s in no way meant to be out of condescension I just find joy in having knowledge and maybe being able to tell someone something they didn’t know makes me feel happy. The way people who use this term regularly seem to treat it as a crime or terrible offense to explain something to someone that they already know. That’s such a fear of mine I’m super insecure when I explain new knowledge I’ve obtained that the person I’m telling already knows it and thinks I’m a condescending prick when all I’m trying to do is help make the world a more knowledgeable place and I love it when people tell me things I didn’t already know. It’s really upsetting that there’s this whole culture of trying to shut people down for wanting to share knowledge and new points of view by calling it mansplaining because people like me become more and more afraid to share what they’ve learned and experienced and IMO the world is just happier when people have a desire to teach and learn from one another. Anyway it just bothers me.
