Everything okay?

No, nothing’s okay. It hasn’t been for a while - ever since his serial killer father has come back into his life. Things have gone to hell, between the girl in the box and the thing going on with Ainsley (they’d wrote it off as self-defense but Malcolm doesn’t know if people believe them). She’s not....the Ainsley he once knew. Killing someone changes you and especially in such a brutal way. Not to mention - she hadn’t even been aware of what she’s done.

He’s WORRIED because if Ainsley doesn’t remember it then what does that mean for her? Is she becoming like their father or will getting some help be good for her? Everyone had always thought HE would become like his father but what if Ainsley does?

It’s a relief to hear that she doesn’t hate him - if it were him, he would certainly hate himself (not that he doesn’t already for what he’s done). While she doesn’t know what he’s done, he has been acting STRANGE. Off. She must have noticed it and he REFUSES to talk about it - which is why he said he’d understood if one day she turned out to hate him because he’s being so SECRETIVE.

“Comes with the job.” That’s his excuse, anyway. A poor one at that considering Derek is a profiler himself and doesn’t get hurt as much as Malcolm does. Which says a lot considering Derek’s job is worldwide and Malcolm’s is based in New York City.

This isn’t the proper paitent-doctor relationship. Malcolm itches to go back to his childhood doctor but she’s out of the office for a few months, something about an vacation, and so he’s stuck with this man. They’ve come to bond over the time they’ve spent together and there are sparks there that can’t be denied.

He doesn’t like being vulnerable like this. All Malcolm’s life he has smiled through the pain, always refusing to acknowledge how bad it is. Even when he’s covered in blood and limping from what he can only guess is either the bruises or the sprained foot, he insists that he’s fine. That he can make it back home himself.

Morgan seems to know better than to get him to go to the hospital and unfortantely for Malcolm, he scoops him up into his arm. A grunt of protest is given and Malcolm squirms in his grip to try and get down. “Derek. Let me go.”
