Jasper buried into an offered blanket as they sat on a dilapidated couch that Amethyst had lent them. There wasn’t much left to the barn after the invasion but slowly the three residents were rebuilding what was lost in it, and that included an old tv donated to them.

And from Steven, a stack of old vhs tapes.

“So...these are supposedly spooky,” she hummed as she tapped one that said ‘The Hash Slinging Slasher’ on it. “Steven said they’re the perfect movies to snuggle up with.”

❛   Ah-a!   ❜ is her victory cry, grinning quite proudly before noticing the familiar blue form that watches her. She should have expected Lapis, waiting, but had both hoped and feared it wouldn’t be the case. 

There’s so much to say, but she is woefully unprepared. Easier to instead to point out the improvements in her new attire.  ❛   Lapis! Uh - what do you think? I thought a star on me might be a bit overdone, so I figured this would be an adequate substitute!  ❜ Her hands, now gloved with fingers exposed, go to shape themselves around the new points of her hair. The vest is given a tug next to showcase; the darkest green of them all and sleeveless.  ❛  Not much point in changing what functions quite nicely already.  ❜

Translation: she likes her socks.

ONE OF THEM REAL GOOD OG JASPER SHIPS!! And still one of my faves tbh. The dynamic is always so good between the two of them tbh. It can be sweet, it can be spicy, it can be something a little inbetween. Especially this tiny, tiny gem just screeching at Jasper and stomping her feet and demanding things of her is an hilarious image. 

I’d honest to gOD love to do a thread about them on the ship before coming to earth OR just homeworld things with the two of them. That legendary line about being on a ship with Jasper being “exhausting” has sailed this ship for me as well as headcanons. 

But!! Bickering!! Flustering Peri!! Tiny gf big gf! Where is my Jaspidot because honestly both Jasper and I need it?? God tier ship that is never ever dying in my heart. I’m crying Jasper can literally lift her up in one hand it’s so good....so blessed....we as a culture don’t deserve the gift of Jaspidot. 

❝ ━━ ✧   Raised brow and rolling laughter; the valley of her stomach shakes with mirth. Fingers tender with fondness card through azure locks and ruffle them carelessly, wildly. Where once was war is now soft, now sacred. 

Jasper breaks the quiet, loudly, with another raspberry to the bared plane of Lapis’ midriff. 

❛    You can’t even break skin with those things,   ❜ she taunts, flashing a view of her own fangs. It feels good to wear the cowl of happiness. Once, it’d been an ill-fitting and fleeting thing. She’d been impostor for the sake of the few she cared for on earth: first Steven, then Amethyst, and Peridot once more. 

Reconciliation with Lapis had come far, far down the road, even after forming bonds with Garnet, but she enjoys the current state of things with the ocean gem the most.  ❛   I think you’re at my mercy,   ❜ it only takes a single hand to encompass slender torso, thumb and forefinger meeting quite easily. Her ‘threat’ is lessened by her nose running across throat and face hiding in the crook of it in a slow nuzzle. Purposefully she nips, just a hint of teeth. 

She is eager to return to bed and curl back around Lapis; warmth. Together they have built something tender and sacred; a sanctuary just for the two of them. It is both wonderful and strange to know that they have built not only a physical place, but a depth within her heart that sings only Lapis’ name. What was once obsession and possession is, dare she say, now extraordinarily similar to love. Devotion is far sweeter than madness. 

It is with tender thoughts that she turns to glance over this room filled with nonsensical and sentimental items. Useless, really, but presents or treasured or both, and they seemed to be accruing a collection of these things. These moments that serve no purpose other than to ring happiness. On earth all of them have become softer beings. This does not terrify her like it would have, once.

I am happy, Jasper realizes

               “DID IT EVER...GET EASIER? TO BE ON EARTH?”     the question is framed so softly that you find yourself unsure if she can even hear you. though you know she is not here, you still fear that your diamond could appear over your shoulder at any moment, eyes piercing and unforgiving. nevermind the fact that she has been happier than she has been in millennia...you are not pink diamond, and she will not treat you with any sort of mercy.     “apologies, i...i should not have asked.
