Stuff I’ve been drawing lately

Adrian:

13: If you met your OC, would the two of you get along? Hmm, there's only really one way I can feasibly imagine running into Adrian if he existed IRL that's not like. A work interaction lmao. That being him playing guitar in the streets which, yeah that's cool I like listening to people play -- maybe if I'm lucky he'll ask me out for dinner and make me pay dfkjhg But yeah I mean, I'd like to think we get along for the most part

15: Does your OC have a faceclaim? If so, who? I don't really work with faceclaims, mostly because I barely even know what famous people look like kjhfgjkdhf.

24: What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions? Hmmm. This one's giving me so much trouble because I'm having a hard time deciding on where to branch off here, haha. I suppose there's a world in which Adrian tried harder to get into theater -- musical productions, specifically -- I think he'd be a lot more stressed out, he'd probably have to work some side-jobs to appease his stepdad enough until he can move out. Maybe he stays in contact with his mom.

He'd probably turn out a bit more bitter in this world, a bit more spite-driven, a bit more restless for lack of travel. Not so much that he becomes unrecognizable, but enough to differentiate him from regular Adrian. I don't think he ever makes it big - not because he's not a good performer, but because he hates the Machine. Money is poison, etc. etc. His beliefs still amount to the same, here.

In general I think Adrian's so strongly inclined to seek out art and freedom and his own little acts of rebellion that he's not going to end up going a dramatically different path overall. It's the little things that change, his contacts, too (In this iteration he would never even meet Mal, which really sucks for the latter, lmao). Mal:

2: What's something about your OC that people wouldn't expect just from looking at them? Hmm, maybe the fact that he's just Godawful with smartphones. He absolutely Hates the things 😂 I think in-universe a lot of people don't expect him to have a friend like Adrian, haha.

7: What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them? Oh man, that's a tough one. At his core Mal has remained relatively consistent, it's more some little things and details that changed over time. I think the biggest one is his hair, actually… In his very first concept doodles his natural hair color was this rusty brown, but the sides were still blonde… which didn't make a lot of sense overall, haha. And then of course there's the current absence of his little ponytail (rip).

Relationship status: Single. I have never dated anyone, partially because of my mental problems but also partially because I'm an annoying ugmo whose companionship I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies let alone people I care about.

Favorite color: Teal. Blue and orange are also top tier and I love how combining pretty much any color with black and/or white looks really nice!

Three favorite foods: Bread, sushi and uhhh pizza I guess. I hate how my body seems to only love unhealthy food...

Song stuck in my head: I have honestly no idea what it is or who's the singer or where I've heard it. Maybe it's something from a tv ad or radio, I dunno? Yesterday however I was stuck with songs from the Disney's Hercules movie!

Last thing I googled: According to my browser history "African Tähti Deluxe". Afrikan tähti (=Africa's star) is a classic Finnish board game that has been in the center of some drama lately, as the theme of searching a diamond from Africa is pretty colonialist and the imagery of the game board isn't the most culturally sensitive. That's why the game has suffered a bit from the "toilet paper effect" where now everyone has been buying it in the fear of it being banned. I googled the Deluxe version of the game because I have in fact been searching it for years now, so I wanted to see if any copies would have been put for sale due to the media attention. (Disclaimer: I am not against modernifying the game by any means. But it's also a classic game for a reason - the gameplay is really fun in its simplicity.)

Dream trip: I'd want to travel to a thousand places, but if I have to choose one I would say going to Japan. Like in all the other places I'd want to see, it has such amazing nature and culture... But what wins the round for Japan is how much I would also want to just shop there. ='D Think of all the merch I could get! I would drown in Pokémon stuff and be happy about it!

Anything I want: The most simple and the most difficult thing: to be happy.

🎼 Your favorite music to draw to right now?

I haven’t really listened a lot of music while drawing lately; the thing I enjoy the most right now is to listen a recorded stream of some fun group playing Among Us. =D That game just never stops to amuse me and I wish so much I had a zillion friends to play it with, because it’s just one of those games that lose a lot of its charm when you don’t know the other players at all. Which is why I live my murder party fantasies through Youtubers and Twitch streamers.

🦋 Do your drawings resemble you?

I... Think so? It’s really hard for me to say it for sure, I think it’s one of those things that is easier to see in other peole and their art than in yourself. But I feel like people wouldn’t be in for a huge surprise if they saw what I looked like irl. My art is after all pretty soft and round and simple with an ever-growing dash of “how can I do this with as little effort as possible because I AM TIRED”, ahhahah.
