Hey there, First just wanted to thank you for posting about playing Sims 2 on Linux, you were the one who got me onto it and I can now play my game the way it's supposed to be played. Second of all, I took your advice and used Fedora 41. I've gotten most programs to work on it regard sims (Hood Checker, Lot adjuster etc.) I haven't tried SimsPE just yet cause I'm trying to solve a problem... I got Clean Installer to work, it lets me install my lots, however... When I go in game the lot I installed isn't in the Sim Lot Bin. I'm not sure if you were able to get clean installer working but I thought I'd ask just in case you did and know what a solution might be :)
Hi! Glad to hear Linux works so well for you.
So uh, I have never actually used CleanInstaller, even on Windows, because I practically never download pre-built houses or sims. I did try to get it work back in October/November but couldn't and then didn't try again because I personally just don't use it. You've actually gotten further than I did because mine wouldn't even recognize my folders. That's a good sign though, I think.
I remember @nonsensical-pixels was also trying to get it to work back then and was struggling too, but I don't know if it worked out for her in the meantime.
SimPE definitely works as there are people who do CC creation on Linux, but the dependencies are a bit tricky. Mine used to work perfectly well on an older install (I tried Fedora Kinoite for a little while), but now it throws errors when I want to open something in plugin view. I'm sure that can be resolved, I just haven't looked into it yet.
