Quarantine project #763 making a little basket from an unexpected source of supplies. #basketweaving #makingsomethingoutofnothing 🧺Actually this little basket is made from the reeds of a decorative grass in our strata ( Skyracer variety). I cut the reeds for a neighbour because the feathery fronds were bothering his allergies. Luckily, I recognized the potential of the reeds for basket making. I have not made this type of basket for many years due to the lack of affordable basket crafting supply. So, I am thrilled that it worked well to craft this little basket. It is not perfect, but it is functional and it was fun to do once again. Fully restored crotch on these super black @ironheartdenim sent in all the way from the UK! 🇬🇧🖤 These has been patched many times and the denim was totally destroyed around the repairs.
