PSA: MUSIC VENUES ARE IN DANGER.
small music venues are in SERIOUS danger right now thanks to the pandemic. as some of the first businesses to close and likely the last to reopen, these venues are struggling. local venues are extremely important because they serve as a cultural hub and a place of gathering, a place of love and community. they serve as a home for small artists including musicians who make a living off of their music. people working at these venues are struggling a lot as well.
without these venues, communities are bleak. in states like mine these shows are some of the only things we can even look forward to. the local music scene saved my life, and i know it’s done the same for others. this is a really hard time for these independent venues, and they need to be defended and recognized during this crisis.
if you have literally two seconds, go to saveourstages.com and the national independent venue association will guide you through contacting your representatives. it takes almost zero effort but we all need to do our part in showing our support for independent venues. and if you can, please spread the word as well. this is incredibly important.
