Making Camp
A Home Until We Find the Way
Morning sunlight filtered through the pine trees as the Golden Bros gathered around the remains of their breakfast.
The bridge was gone.
No one knew how long they'd be in the mountains.
One of the younger Bros looked around the forest.
"So... what now?"
Brock Gold #46 unfolded the trail map and smiled.
"We stop thinking like visitors."
"We start thinking like campers."
Within minutes, everyone had a job.
Some collected firewood.
Others filtered fresh water from the river.
A few reinforced the tents after the night's storm.
Another group hung food safely away from curious wildlife.
By midday, what had been a temporary campsite felt like a small home.
The uncertainty hadn't disappeared.
But neither had the brotherhood.
As the sun began to set, Brock looked around the camp with quiet satisfaction.
"We can't control when we'll leave."
"But we can choose how we spend the time we're here."
The Golden Bros nodded.
The forest still felt vast.
Still unfamiliar.
Yet somehow...
It felt a little less intimidating than it had that morning.
Then...
From somewhere high in the trees...
Came three slow knocks.
Knock...
Knock...
Knock...
The camp fell silent.
No one spoke.
Brock glanced toward the darkening forest.
"...Tomorrow," he said quietly.
"We'll find out what made that sound."
To be continued...
The unexpected can change our plans, but it doesn't have to change our purpose. In the Golden Army, challenges are met with calm minds, willing hands, and brothers who work together. No one faces the unknown alone.
