Apollo watched the soldiers march onto the island. He was standing with his arms crossed, a devilish smile on his face. This was the perfect time to make the threats he had said to Madelina an actual reality. He nodded at the soldiers. All of them were good men...what they all knew that none of the citizens of Elysium knew, was that they were not doing this because they wanted to. Apollo was controlling each and every mind that was in uniform. There was a faint hint of rebellion coming from one of the younger ones and Apollo stopped him with nothing but a thought. 

And did exactly as he’d taught Madelina to do. Turn up the frequency, and fry the brain. 

Silently, he sent a message to the rest. “Do you see what happens when you disobey? If you want to get home to your families, you’ll follow blindly.” 

When all the soldiers had been unloaded, he followed them to the center of town. Horrified citizens clung to each other. Some understood what was happening, others were starting to scream. And those were the ones he wanted to make examples of. This time, he stood tall in front of all of Elysium, looking the mutants right in the eye. “Things are changing here. And it can go one of two ways. Either you cooperate with every mandate I set. Or...” He grabbed one of the men closest to him and boiled his brain--his eyes disolved into red goop, blood rushed out of his ears and mouth. He’d done it only mere moments earlier but this one was much sweeter. This one had an audience.

“My name is Apollo. These are my men. And I want Elysium for myself. Step out of line, I’ll kill you. Form groups to take me down, I’ll kill you. Breathe even a syllable against me, I’ll kill you.” He looked around, a satisfied smile on his features. 

“The democracy of the island is gone. Long live my dictator ship.”

I can't remember things that mean the most to me, but I could name every TV show I've seen, and I will replant all these planted seeds; every other year I think I'm changing into someone I don't know.
