You might also like Banana Fish in terms of a BL anime but be aware that it’s violent and deals with sexual assault (one of the main characters has been assaulted since he was a child) but the main boys have such a wholesome relationship. It’s very different from typical BL anime because the main plot is about a gang war in 80s NYC. The manga is waaay better but the anime is decent! Eiji, one of the main boys, reminds me of Will Byers a lot because of his personality.
Hmmm I am really sensitive about assault storylines so I'd really have to read up to prepare myself, but I'm willing to look into things and branch out and try stuff!!! And I am always down for a Will Byers variant. Thanks for the rec 🥰
