In my country people rate you either with your looks or your academics. In 95% cases its the latter. and our parents bother a lot about what others think about us.Let me tell you  small incident.
WE have 2 main and imp exams in our life (as we are told). 10th grade and 12th grade. Getting an A+ for all the subjects (10 CG PA) you learn means a lot in our society. It shows your parents’ status , how good you are, how good job your are gonna get , blah blah blah.... well you wanna know something the only results that’s gonna matter was that of the 12th grade.  To get admission in a decent college of course
 when my results came I was thrilled to know that i scored 9.8, i.e, I got A+ for all the subjects except one. In my case mathematics. To their  friends and all my parents said that they were completely happy with my results as i lost the 5th A+ for 2 marks or so.
The very next morning the second page of every newspapers were filled with the pics of all those who scored 10. An advertising strategy adopted other school in my locality. That very on day my father scolded me for only getting a 9.8. Â He said that I was good for nothing. Nobody was there for me. Nobody understood what i felt............
You may think what a silly story this is. I just want you notice how my parents behaved to me and with their friends....To me they said what they actually felt. And to the others they were the best parents supporting their daughter because she scored good.
Day in day out many people comes and goes through our life. Many of them may not even mean anything to us. But for those who does why could not we be ourselves. Whatever the reason may be, always be yourself. And dare enough to speak what you really mean, out loud so that the whole world can hear you. The real you. Â
