@publicabsent: i thought you hated me, to be honest.
she's not the first to think that, certainly wont be the last. people who know him at camp just know him in a certain way, there's a certain power trip that comes with being out in the woods, in charge with no one telling him what to do. he goes a little overboard, and it's fair to say he's not the nicest about it all. he doesn't hate her, he barely knows her. not that that's ever really stopped anyone. he scoffs lightly, not intended to be harsh, more just surprised. "i don't hate you, nettie." a hint of fondness rarely heard in his voice, the luck of catching him in a moment where he isn't drowning in his stress. "you're a sunnyvaler." not that any of that shit matters to him, really. but it comes with a certain gravity, a kinship of sorts. or it's supposed to, at least. he's pretty sure even half of the sunnyvalers hate him. "i don't hate anyone." as if correcting himself. he doesn't care about the town battles, it feels like his parents speaking through him any time it's brought up. he knows what he's supposed to think and feel, but the truth is as long as they aren't sabotaging his camp kurt couldn't care less where everyone's from.
