Emerald honestly was just concerned about her leader, ever since joining Salem, something felt different about her. Surely losing her voice was a hard hit , but that was back.. But even Emerald expected Cinder to be able to talk to her of all people about what is going on behind closed doors with Salem.

Simple meetings with her, sure Emerald sometimes was there with Mercury, but there were a lot of times where she was in the dark.

The rescue was certainly appreciated. Without their timely arrival, he likely would have bled out. The fires were dying down, Emerald having been so kind to wrap his legs with the necessary medicine && herbs included in the bandages.

“Thanks.” Manners cost him nothing, after all. When Emerald left him alone, he found himself leaning against the tree, observing the second member of their company. “Both of you - I don’t think I could have made it to town in this state.”

However, he can’t help but wonder - how did this woman know of his father? He hadn’t been taking contracts for some time since he’d started using Mercury as a test subject.
