So. How do you tell if your male Frosmoth is like. Brooding eggs? Or something? My frosmoth has always been very fatherly but it’s seemed… More lately, and my cinderace keeps mentioning that he wonders where Dofiu is, and I feel that he’s sneaking off to do smth. In south Galar btw, if that effects anything, but he was caught more north.

Hooooo boy that's a tough one!
So, first of all, I would check the area Dofiu is hanging out in for any EXTRA frozen leaf bundles. They'll be hard to miss.
The way they prepare for Snoms is by gathering and making a nest of frozen leaves, weaving their own scales in to help keep them frozen. The Snom hatch out and eat these as their first meal, and the scales keep them safe and cool until they've got their first coat of icy spikes even if they're not in the right season window.
If you can't find his area of patrol, I would see if you can't set up a 'bait' nursery ish area. A few branches, lots of leaves, nest building stuff you know? Your Frosmoth MAY just be feeling broody and be happy to stay home and play denbuilding, or it may. Uh. have found a lady frosmoth (or other mon) in the wild it wants to impress. in which case good luck keeping it inside jfdggddhf
I've heard of a case where a disabled Braviary kept defending stones like a total papa mon, and eventually they managed to switch one out for a baby rufflet who was orphaned. it was SO cute the way they bonded. maybe Dofiu could be a foster parent if the instinct keeps strong?
