Amboli Hill Station-Maharashtra
Located in the Sahyadri ranges in the Western Ghats, Amboli is a quaint hill station, surrounded by thick forests of the Anjani tree and plantations of cardamom; and crisscrossed by a number of tiny streams. It is situated at a height of 690 m and is particularly known for the forests and steep mountains on one side and having the sandy Konkan coast on the other side. This hill station is also the wettest place in Maharashtra, receiving the maximum rainfall and is popular during the monsoons.

The main attractions are the many viewpoints that offer panoramic vistas of the valley such as Sea-view Point, Purvicha Vas, and Mahadevgad Point – all of which unfold a view of the Konkan coast merging with the Arabian Sea. Tourists can visit the ruins of Madhavgadh fort in the vicinity. One can also visit the historic botanical gardens and picnic there. Mahadevgad and Narayangad are other hill stations in the area. There is also a small temple and a red laterite cave nearby that is a base for exploration by many trekkers.

Madhavgad Fort
Madhavgad Fort offers great views of the surrounding forests, the Konkan and the Arabian Sea. The Madhavgad Fort is four times the size of Shaniwarwada in Pune. It is in a state of ruins but gives its visitors an idea of the war that took place here in the olden days.
