Ylvis with new TV program: - It might be absolutely terrible
BA, August 19th, 2020
The brothers are seriously getting to know each other in their new TV program. What that is going to be like, they are yet unsure of.
- We donât really know anything about what this is going to be like yet. But we filmed the title sequence on Monday, and that will be good. So if nothing else, at least we know we have one good thing, Vegard YlvisĂ„ker (41) says over the phone to BA.
Together with little brother BĂ„rd (38), Calle Hellevang-Larsen (43) and Magnus Devold (33), he will be on the TV screen this fall with âYlvis pĂ„ holmen med Calle og Magnusâ.
- Itâs the good gang, and we have a mission statement that is sitting down and figuring out what we think is fun. This time we wanted to do like so many others, and have a summer program with thick woolen sweaters, BĂ„rd, who is also on the line, says.
Have missed making TV
It has been four years since âI kveld med Ylvisâ. Since then, the brothers from Bergen have done âStories from Norwayâ and participated in the TV show âKongen befalerâ.
- We donât necessarily miss being on TV in itself, but we think itâs fun to make TV, BĂ„rd says.
In the new TV program, which has several prerecorded segments, the four of them will be rotating the role of host. What happens in each episode, only the host knows.
- It might be absolutely terrible, BÄrd says, before manager JÞrgen Thue cuts in on the call.
- No, no, itâs going to be very good!
Are going under each otherâs skin
The series will be recorded in September, which is why they still are a bit unsure of what the whole thing is going be like.
Discovery writes the following about the program in the press release they sent out this week: âYlvis pĂ„ holmen med Calle og Magnus gives you all the humor, madness, music, slapstick and unpredictability that follow when Ylvis, Calle and Magnus do what they know best!â
- Is that right?
- Yes, I suppose so, if thatâs what they write, BĂ„rd says.
- Itâs going to be a program where we go under each otherâs skin and really get to know each other. Itâs the old gang getting together, Vegard says.
- Yes, because you donât know each other all that well already?
- Vegard to me is a good colleague. I have another brother who I know well and love, but now Iâm finally going to get to know Vegard too, BĂ„rd says.
As for whether it will be teary as well, the brothers donât rule it out.
- Weâre really going deep!
The premiere of the program will be in September.
