"Yeah, I'm a mutant," he stated simply in response to the other. Granted, the more accurate answer would be to say he was the clone of a mutant, but he doubted his company would care too much for technicalities.

In hindsight, he probably should’ve been better prepared for little... oopsies like this. Managing to half stumble his way back to his van was probably thanks to muscle memory. So was apparently dragging himself into pants, thank God... 

Was it a miracle that his camper hadn’t been towed off the side of the road for being there for the last 25(?) hours? Or was this guy coming up about to do that? Fuck if Manny knew beyond the bloodied haze in his ears and the rush behind his temple.

Wanda & Pietro Maximoff were born in 1983, and they were the twin children of Yelizaveta Maximoff and Erik Lehnsherr. The twins had a happy childhood, filled with laughter, happy moments, bedtime stories, homemade birthday cakes, a few scrapped knees, and broken toys, but mostly love from their parents; then suddenly, one night in 1991 giving no explanations to anyone, not even his beloved lover, Erik left. Sorrow overcame Yelizaveta, and between school lunches and supermarket runs, she sobbed without letting her children realize that that had broken her, keeping a front of love and support for them. As the months went by, and she had accepted that he wasn't coming back, they resumed their lives, picking up the pieces that Erik left. And below blanket forts and old hand lamps Pietro and Wanda discussed about the absence of their father and that feeling he had left in the twins had became sorrow for her, and rage from him.

Years went by, and Wanda and Pietro had become young adults, pursued an university degree, their mother had been very adamant in this, because she had never been able to go and even though she was a very bright woman, she wished she had the chance to. That wish was cut in half when they got the news from their mother that she had a disease that she had kept from them, as they had already suffered enough with one parent absent; when she decided to talk about it, it was too late, the woman had her days counted. As they stayed on their mother's side all the remaining time, she had talked about her will, how much she had loved their father, how she was still hoping he would come back and see how precious his children were and the good persons they had become, how proud she was of them, and how much she loved them and still will even in the afterlife. As Pietro left to get more water, Wanda decided to ask if she knew where their father was, and Yelizaveta tells her he's in America, and asks her to give him a letter if she ever decides to meet him again, then she confides to her all the things that he had said and done, that he was a mutant, and that he, in the end of it all, was a good person.

The fatidic day in 2004 when Yelizaveta had finally left this world leaving the twins completely alone, was the day that they had discovered that they were not completely human, as they had, unknowingly gotten powers, once dormant were possibly triggered by the loss of the only person that loved them unconditionally. As Pietro questioned, mostly to think air, what was going on, his twin sister told the things their mother had told her about their father, even the things he had done, and she said that she wanted to go find him. Pietro, still enraged by his lies decided to stay, as he knew that he wouldn't be embracing their father with open arms, as he was still embracing the hatred he had created; for their father he was dead, and he made Wanda promise that he will tell him that.

The old mutant paused at the question, his back to the man as he contemplated whether or not to be entirely honest with him. Though it seemed he'd already decided, turning back, he craned his neck up a little to meet his gaze. "I am Erik Lehsnherr." He told him firmly, notably not offering a hand in greeting as he simply remained largely unmoving, fingers clasped together behind his back. "Though some know me as Magneto." Casually, he began to take a few firm steps, momentarily glancing back to the man as he went. "You will come to no harm, I assure you. I'm simply offering... assistance, in a world that quivers in the face of those who are... different."

Darcy was in such a terrible mood. First of all, she was stuck in this place since there was a stupid snowstorm outside. Second, she obviously missed that appointment she had been waiting for months because, again, stupid snowstorm. And the worst of all, she was cold.

Okay, Darcy was always cold but this time it was worse and the coffee she had was gone so nothing to warm her hands either. Oh how she missed her pets right now.

That was until she felt something on her shoulders, a coat?

Wanda was sure that she had been about to die in that moment. While she had managed to get everyone else out of the building before it had started to crumble in on itself, there hadn't been enough time to get out herself. And so she had resigned herself to that fate. At least that was until she felt herself being scooped up into someone's arms and flown out. Peering round, she was surprised to see his face.

She hadn't been able to sleep that night. After spending some time in the company of her books instead of her thoughts, Wanda got out of bed in favor to make her favorite chamomile tea when her green eyes fell upon him, causing her to stop for a moment. She hadn't expected anyone being up at such an hour. Seeing her father awake and seemingly deep in thought, she was initially hesitant to say anything lest she bother him.

Even so, it still hadn't stopped the witch from approaching quietly after a few heartbeats and make her offer. She secretly reveled in those treasured moments of spending time with him, no matter what. Besides, she figured there couldn't be any harm in asking. The worst thing he could do was turn her away — which she almost thinks is the case when she hears his initial avoidance. It makes her wonder what was on his mind.

However, to her comfort, he agrees and she takes a breath. Wanda returns his smile and complies with his request to sit, her green eyes tired but filled with concern for her father. ❝ You should be resting, too, Pappa, ❞ she says gently. ❝ What's bothering you? ❞ Could she have used her abilities to explore his mind? Maybe. Was she going to? Absolutely not. She wouldn't dare do that to him, of all people — or her siblings for that matter. Instead, she tentatively reaches to place her hand atop of his, a small gesture to let him know he could speak his mind freely when he was ready, and she wouldn't go anywhere.
