Travels to Dalaran // Closed rp
{Closed Starter for @magisterrommath }
His uncle Nallorath had just returned from his most recent round of studies in the magical city of Dalaran. And as with every trip prior in Kael's lifetime, stories had been shared with the young prince. With every decade that had passed, the stories became more and more racy, the sort that perhaps only those close to the prince could get away with telling. Though, even as a child, Kael had been fascinated with every aspect of the city, but the freedom there compared to Silvermoon only drew him in more.
It wasn't that Kael had never been to Dalaran. He had gotten a taste on a few occasions when he accompanied his father on diplomatic missions. With 257 years behind him, he had traveled quite a bit, however it was never for any lengthy period. Weeks at most. While his father may be beloved by his people, it was no secret that he preferred to isolate the Quel'dorei from the affairs of other races as much as possible.
Unfortunately for Kael, that included keeping his only son close at hand, a fact Kael understood less and less as time passed. At his age, he was an adult by anyone's standards.
Life was growing dull in Silvermoon. One could learn under the same masters for only so long. Belovar was a great teacher, but after two and a half centuries, Kael needed variety, needed to get out and explore the world. A prince needed to know not only his people at home, but those living in other kingdoms. Dalaran had the second highest elven population outside of Silvermoon, and they were still his people were they not?
That is exactly how Kael pitched the idea to move to Dalaran to his father.
At first Anasterian had not taken the request well and Kael was met with fears of 'corrupting influences from the humans' and 'concerns of needing to learn to rule at home first and foremost'. However, Kael pushed further, even offering to serve as a somewhat permanent diplomat.
After several days of this, Anasterian reluctantly relented with one stipulation, that Kael bring a trusted friend with him. No issue to Kael as he had already planned on inviting just a friend anyways.
He could have sent a servant to relay this request, but Kael prefers a much more personal approach. A short walk through the beautiful streets of Silvermoon and Kael finds himself outside the residence of his closest friend, Rommath. There's a knock on the doorway, alerting his friend of his arrival and rather than wait, he just walks inside. Kael finds a seat and settles down. Making himself right at home, he smiles and calls out to his friend.
“How do you feel about taking a long trip with me? ”
