A Primer on Magiforming
Magiforming is a technique for enchanting that I don’t believe I’ve seen anywhere else, so I’m calling it new and coining the term. Interested? Read on to learn how!
Magiforming is essentially a way of “programming” an object magically, restructuring its energy with new intent and meaning. To perform:
Hold the object in your hands (preferably within a protection circle). Then, focus on it as if to charge it with energy, and picture it in your mind as clearly as possible. Once you have it imaged, mentally deconstruct it piece by piece; if the part is crystal, shatter it to dust; if it’s metal, melt it down; if it’s fabric, unravel it; if it’s leather, picture how leather is made, and do the process backwards in your head; so on and so forth.
When you’ve fully deconstructed every piece mentally, seeing and feeling the energy structure inside it open up, continue focusing on keeping it apart while you reshape its energy. Mentally visualize it becoming the right structure for what you want; for instance, if you need the object to provide stability, mentally will it into a pillar shape. If you want protection, you could, for instance, form the energy into the shape of a protection rune. As you shape it, feed your own energy into it, and instruct the object in exactly what you want, both visually and with words, either thought strongly or spoken with powerful will.
Once you’ve fully shaped and instructed it, put the object back together around the new energy structure, piece by piece, keeping the full image of the reshaped energy in mind as you do.
Slowly draw away from your focus, and there you go! A brand-new magiformed object, my own favorite method of enchanting an item.
