♥ - Family headcanon.
Kamek was incredibly important figure in Junior’s life, especially considering that he was the one who was around to take care of him the most. Junior felt as though they were friends in a sense, and he affectionately called him ‘grandpapa’ every single chance he could. Something about him was inviting, and he had such a patience and sense of serenity around him that it was enough to soothe Junior’s tantrums ever since he was but a tyke. However, as he grew older, he became more and more aware of just how busy Kamek was. They started drifting apart, and Junior could truly do nothing that could distract him from his duties.
They occasionally got time to interact, but aside from that, Junior’s interactions with Kamek became limited outside of infancy. He desperately wants to impress him just as much as he wants to impress his father, and he’s recently been attempting to try and master some magic on his own. It’s a struggle without him around, and it’s much more of a begrudging experience thanks to how his siblings don’t have the time or drive to sit down with him and go over the basics.
Junior won’t show it, whether it be by his pride or fear of being seen as weak. But he’s been in immense pain ever since Kamek left, and it doesn’t help him any better knowing that all he heard that night were vicious insults and outbursts from both parties. He’s doing everything he can to try and find Kamek, and although his leads are short, he refuses to give up until he finally comes to an appropriate answer.
