Mixing it up a bit! No Undertale this time. I can’t remember if I posted this one before and I can’t find it in my archive, but I’m really proud of it, so I’ll post it again.

This is the first post of (hopefully) a series for new witches talking about different flowers, their properties and their possible uses. I hope you enjoy it, and if you like it, I’ll continue with other flowers. So here are some random but useful facts about roses and its relation to magic:

🌸 Roses are very powerful flowers despite their soft appearance. Its gentle touch is healing, just like love’s. 

🌸 There are lots of rose varieties, but the most basic ones are wildroses, miniature roses (that can be grown inside the house but are more delicate) and common roses. 

🌸 Roses have been cultivated for more than 5,000 years. They were first cultivated in China, but Ancient Greeks and Romans already used them for oils, tinctures and rituals. 

🌸 Dreams that include roses are always favorable. 

🌸 If a petal falls as the rose is being cut, it’s considered a bad omen. (To prevent these type of things, I always recommend asking the plant for permission to cut one of the flowers, treating it with respect and being thankful for its help)

🌸 As roses are associated with Venus/Aphrodite, they are good ingredients in love and beauty spells, but they also protect against the evil eye. A good method is spraying rosewater on your clothes/bed, or adding petals to charms or spell jars.

🌸 Rosewater is a basic ingredient in a witch’s inventory. Making rosewater is easy, just make sure that your petals haven’t been treated with pesticides or they won’t have any healing effect.- you only need to boil your dry petals in springwater until they lose their colour, let the water cool and filter it.

🌸Rosewater is awesome for skin conditions, sunburns and spells (I can make a post only with spells and rituals with roses if you want, but this post is more general)

🌸 Their element is water and their planet is Venus.

🌸 In alchemy, the rose is a symbol of perfection and ultimate achievement.
