It’s a tiny brown notebook with a leather cover. A thin piece of frayed string is tied around it, keeping it closed. The pages are made of a soft parchment.

D’ya think Nessa cooks, too? She makes killer sweets! Well if she can bake that well, I’m sure she’s a beast at cooking.

Pasta. Pasta is always awesome. You can never go wrong with spaghetti. Or chicken tortellini alfredo. Or any kind of pasta, really. Which reminds me, I should tell Nessa about that little Italian place a few streets over. Wonder if she’s ever tried it? It’s actually pretty decent.

She probably cooks better than them though. Ehh, I’d probably be better off just asking her to cook pasta for me. But that’s kinda pushing it, I think.

It was a damn shame that Gyro had to spend the day at home, bedridden and ill. He couldn’t go to work, he couldn’t really go anywhere.

Okay, so he wasn’t exactly lying in bed. Since he knew he was going to have company, he’d decided to camp out in the living room instead. More specifically, on the couch. With some blankets, pillows, tissues, and, of course, his teddy bear.

Hearing a knock on his door, he tiredly called out, “It’s open!”

Gyro rolled onto his side and stared at the front door, waiting for it to open. He was sure it was Nessa. She’d called moments ago, and he’d allowed her to stop by for a visit.
