Happy New Year! For those who might not have followed me for a long time, this is an annual event for me, posting my follow forever. It’s a chance for me to thank those people who have made my life so wonderful in the last year and to look forward to a new year and all the promise and opportunities it holds for me and my friends. It’s also a chance for me to acknowledge who I’ve unfortunately grown apart from and who is no longer an active part of my life. But most importantly, this annual follow forever is a way for me show my love for different blogs and the people who put their time and love into them.  

This year was a year of change for me, between graduating from school and starting a new job, to moving back home and discovering new interests. I made some incredible friends this year, as well as lost some, but along the way I learned to put myself first and cut ties with people who weren’t good for me. Here’s to a welcome send-off for the feverish nightmare that was 2k17, and to a bright and brilliant 2018!

I’m not gonna get sappy here because I did that already in my Christmas card but you truly are the best friend I could ever ask for. thank you for your constant cheerleading sessions and spontaneous skype calls and memorizing my awful sleep patterns. thank you for being the best writing partner I’ve ever had and for embarking on so many multimuse adventures with me. I know we’ve both been a little out of sync this year thanks to big life changes ( hello new job and crazy class schedules ), but I’m always really thankful for when we do catch up - it seems like no time has passed since we last spoke, we just fall into it so easily. I’m just really grateful you’re in my life because you’re an incredible person.

@peltzwrites- I’m gonna be honest, I don’t remember how long we’ve been friends. since 2014 I think? which means that this is our three year friendiversarry. thank you for all the times you’ve answered my drunk crying skype calls and for giving me honest unfiltered advice that I need to hear. you’re someone I can always count on, and I hope you know that I’m someone who will always have your back in turn. 

@herhighnessrps - Dea, I adore you - you and your sparkly dresses you’re not gonna talk about in your description. I had no idea when joining Darlington that I would make a forever friend in the group, but I made several, you perhaps the first one. It’s been nearly three years since then and I can’t believe Oliver and Lyss still haven’t kissed rip #slowburnship

@mlasses - the Ber to my Tou, I don’t think we’ve gone longer than a week or two without texting. I’m so lucky you gave me the brother relationship I always wanted my dumb son to have, and such a positive friendship to go along with. I adore hearing about all your new plots and characters, as well as talking about the crazy Charming stories we have. ( I’m not thankful for all the times you’ve snapped me bits of that’s what I like )

@starmimii - MIMI MY LOVE, life is crazy but I’m glad you’re in mine. I’m so grateful we connected through Charming and sent each other secret ask memes that I still have saved ( and need to post lol ). you’re such a talented artist, even if you might not always see it, and a sweet friend. here’s to many more years of friendship!

"you're too good for him"

Britt played with her bracelet, eyes focused on the band she was spinning around her wrist. Sure, did she know deep down that she was too good for Dimitri? Of course. After all, he treated her more like a chihuahua that could fit in a bag - something cute to carry around and show off, spoil and then promptly abandon at the side of the road when he no longer found her interesting. Britt was fully aware of that fact, the knowledge that she was a pretty plaything as long as she kept her moth shut. And she knew that she deserved better than that. Not even Dessa had been able to make her question her worth to that extent. But she went along with it because it was easy. It was easy to be quiet, to suck when told, to lay back and let him have his way, to laugh when it was obvious that’s what he wanted, to smile and let him talk until he got bored. It was easy, there was no risk and maybe that’s what she found the easiest. It was obvious that Dimitri didn’t love her, couldn’t love her and it was easy not to fall for him. 

Sadie though, she was a different story. Britt glanced over at her best friend, nervously swallowing as her best friend downed her glass of beer. Somehow she’d managed to fall for the red head, to ruin their perfectly good, perfectly wonder friendship by doing the one thing she knew was off limits. Her eyes moved back to her bracelet, the blonde all too aware of staring at Sadie for a moment too long. Forcing a laugh, Britt reached for her glass. “Guess you’re the only one who believes that.”

"i'm NOT jealous"

Rolling her eyes at her wife, Britt threw herself onto the couch, letting out a sigh as she crawled into Sadie’s lap. Making herself comfortable, her legs curled under her, slipping over Sadie’s knees, one arm moving to the red head’s shoulders, the other coming to brush a loose curl from her face, Britt laughed. “Uh huh. And I’m the Queen of England.” She grinned, brushing her lips against the tip of Sadie’s nose. “Try saying that again without crossing your arms and pouting and maybe I’ll believe it.” Britt crooked a brow, chuckling under her breath. “Probably not though.” 

Bryce wanted to tell Jesse there was nothing to worry about - wanted it to be true. But this was Penelope they were talking about. The former love of his life, his former wife, hell, his high school sweetheart. And no matter what he wanted to tell Jessie, he knew that part of him would always love Penelope. Though she’d been the one to leave him, citing his work-a-holic attitude, his preference of stars above all, his inability to “live in the here and now”, as she liked to put it, something would always draw him to her. 

And now the successful New York magazine editor was back in Charming, Bryce’s ex wife once again present in his life. But even Bryce wasn’t thick enough to believe that she would stay. After all, she had a new life now, one without him in a far away city. And he had a new life without her too, embracing his inner wolf more and more, living more in the present, enjoying his every sense. If the small town had been suffocating for her before, he could only imagine what it would be like now for her without anyone that she still had ties to. Part of him was saddened by that. He’d always pictured them in Charming: there was the green house with white shutters that they’d buy and here in the backyard is where she’d grow her roses, there on the corner was the playground painted blue and white where their kids would play, here in his passenger seat is where his oldest would sit when he picked them up from school, there in that diner is where he and Penelope would have a date night, even though they were already married. 

But part of him was starting to realize that he didn’t mind her leaving again. Slowly those landmarks were starting to fade. Instead, here in this corner coffee shop is where he and Jessie stopped for a cup in the early hours of the morning, sleepily smiling at each other, his deputy falling asleep on the car ride back to the station. Here on this corner was where Bryce kissed her for the first time, completely out of his mind. Here on this dock by the lake was where he and Jessie snuck out to look for shooting stars, backs against the wood, his hand accidentally brushing her’s.
