ive been cooking up a deltarune au in my brain, and i finally started drawing about it today...! basically its just another au with the setup of "Mettaton/Hapstablook makes a dark world in the Blook household", but this one has a bit more of a personal spin on it than the others ive seen. maybe ill talk about it in another post? anyways heres their dark world designs LOL!!! pls click the pics to see them fully!
Napstablook is the resident magic user, like Ralsei or Noelle. his design was honestly pretty easy to come up with? i gave them their dapper blook hat, and the cape just natrually went with it! the inside is supposed to look like when you lay on the floor and feel like garbage. also the fact that its on the inside of the cape... something something "its whats on the inside that counts" LOL!
Mads was a little hard to come up with initially, but it was pretty easy once i got it started! note: idk what pronouns Mads would be using at this point in their character development, so im just gonna use they/them for this post. i might change it to she/her later!
anyways, theyre the damage dealer of the group, and i tried to give their design some vaguely feminine/cat like elements without it being super obvious. i briefly considered making the floating paws friend-colored, but... Mads has no connection to friend, so there wouldnt really be a reason for it lol!
and now Haps!!! the first pic was me trying to figure out his design. im going with the theory that the lightners' dark world appearances are their ideal selves, or at least how they view themselves. thats why Haps looks so much more humanoid, and is taking some design elements from NEO. of course its not perfect, but it makes him feel much better about himself in the dark world. hes still very reserved and shy, but the dark world appearance makes him feel a little more confident and willing to get out of his shell.
oh yeah also! i think ive seen ppl give Haps a chainsaw like he has in "cooking with a killer robot" in undertale, but i think a parasol is much better suited for how shy he is at this point in time. its something he can hide under/behind, and its much less "bold" than a chainsaw.
