she can’t sleep, unsure if she slept at all to begin with. either eva is an exceptional actor, or she is asleep, and tilly doesn’t actually think watching her is romantic or particularly entertaining and her stomach is starting to growl embarrassingly, so she decides there’s no putting it off any longer. she gets out of bed slowly, careful not to disturb eva at all, then quietly leaves for the living room. although it’d be awkward if maddox was still asleep on the couch, her stomach turns over when she sees him awake and on his phone. “you’re up early,” she comments before she can think better of it. “or could you not sleep either?” / @madsdox​

“where does your mom live, anyways?” it’s getting pretty cold outside but the thing about pets if you have to walk them even in poor weather so she figured she’d keep maddox company. “i mean, in roseville, i assume. but does she have a house?” jas knows the move was recent so she’s not sure what exactly the situation is. / @madsdox​

“don’t you feel...” he purses his lips, unsure if he should continue. grayson doesn’t know maddox well, but what with therapy and the general energy around school lately, it doesn’t feel so out of bounds to say something a little personal. “i don’t know, strange handling weapons after what happened? i know it’s not as if...they used a sword but...” / @madsdox​

“have you talked to...irene lately?” she still doesn’t know how best to refer to their birthmother, though if she is talking to maddox and uses the word mom, that can only be one person because she’s the only mother they share. so that’s sort of convenient, but still confusing. “i mean, outside of class. alone. or about non-school related things.” it’s weird they don’t naturally tell each other about their lives, but in a way, it feels like they’re still trying to build the twin relationship that should be natural. she knows they had it once, when they were younger, so it’s not like it’s gone or was never there, but it’s different than if they’d been raised together. / @madsdox​

“did you comb your hair?” she asks, making a face because it looks...unkempt. “i have a brush in my purse.” / @madsdox​

they’d spent a whole month together, mostly at her house, but it feels like she hasn’t seen him much since the internship started. it’s fair, considering separate internship groups and hotels and she knows some of his friends but not enough that they’d all hang out together regularly. tilly hadn’t expected this trip to be any different, considering all of the people going who she hardly knows, but for the time being it’s just her and maddox, which she appreciates. she’s not sure if he thinks she’s leading them somewhere in particular, mostly she just wants to go for a walk. “um, so how many people on this trip do you know? obviously, i know claire, and kass, but other than them and bash, i don’t really know anyone else.” and him, of course. “so...it still doesn’t feel like i should be here, but it’s...nice, so far.” / @madsdox​
